Dhamma Kuta is approximately 3hr driving from the Bandaranaike International Airport and approximately 3hr driving from the Colombo.
By Bus
BUS – direct intercity buses available from Colombo Fort to Kandy.
One option is to get off at Peradeniya at Galaha Junction just before Botanical Gardens. Take 3 Wheeler or bus on Galaha Road (on your right) up to Mahakanda, a journey of approximately 6 km (passing Peradeniya campus grounds etc). At Hindagala, Mowbray Rd, Mahakanda turn left (sign posted) at a turn off to Dhamma Kuta. Proceed approximately 3 Km to Dhamma Kuta Vipassana Meditation Centre. You may take a 3-wheeler from Mahakanda up to Dhamma Kuta as it is a steep uphill walk which takes about 45 minutes.
Another option, which is from Kandy, is to take the Mahakanda bus, from near the clock tower and follow the directions as above.
By Train
TRAIN – Goes to Kandy from Colombo Fort. Mahakanda bus available near Kandy Railway Station, or from its starting point which is near the clock tower. Get off at Mahakanda Bus Stand and take 3 Wheeler to Centre. Some trains allow passengers to get off at Sarasavi Station near Peradeniya. A short walk through Campus grounds will lead to Galaha Road. Take Mahakanda bus or take a 3-wheeler for rest of the journey as stated earlier (No trains are available directly from the Airport.)

From Bandaranaike International Airport (CMB)
